Our adventure starts early Saturday Morning in my driveway in Texas. I load up my mom, Madeline, and Myah and start down the road in the direction of Illinois. We have a pick up truck and Myah is in the middle (in the back) and Madeline is behind me. My mom starts off in the back passenger seat. This is important because 20 miles down the road Myah and Madeline both fall sound asleep. My mom has some back issues and rides easier in the front so I pull off the nearest ramp to let her switch. Of course both girls wake up as soon as the doors close. They do drift back to sleep. Most of the trip was uneventful. It was a nice time with my mom (who is headed to surgery tomorrow). We stop at a McDonalds to change a poopy diaper and let Madeline stretch her legs. We stop for me to go the bathroom. We stop to get gas. We stop for Mimi to go to the bathroom. We stop for Madeline to go. We stop for gas again because it was a cheap station. We let Madeline play at a playground at a rest area (while I changed another poopy diaper). We stop to eat. We stop for two fake cries of "PooPoo!" If we could have done all of those things at once or even twice we wouldn't have added 3 and a half hours onto our trip. =)  After we made it through St Louis we decide we are too tired to make it the last four hours (for us - five hours) and start looking for a hotel. This is around 9. Around 10 Myah and Madeline have a melt down (actually the first of the very long day). Around 10:30 we are driving to the next town and it begins to pour down rain. (We are in a pick up with our luggage in the bed). I am laughing hysterically at this point. Madeline has been saying, "My boody is tired of sitting" for the past couple hours. We finally find a hotel, check in, and I begin the process of loading up the stroller and putting our luggage in the cab of the truck. What do you think happens? The front wheel of the stroller falls off - the girls are sitting in it already - so I make a dive to catch it and save the day! We get up to the room and it takes an hour and a half to get the girls to sleep. We are only three hours from my parents home! But even though it was a one of a kind trip and highly unadvisable with small children, it was fun and we got to spend 17 1/2 quality hours (plus the overnight stay) together! (It's a 14 hour trip) Please pray for my mom tomorrow!
