Saturday I turned 30. It wasn't so bad. We went to a nice lunch compliments of my Mom and Dad - thanks guys! I love the Olive Garden. Then Scott and I went to church and the girls stayed with my parents. After church things got interesting. Each pastor takes a weekend to stay behind and lock up the building after all the talkers exit. =) So I wanted to get home to a sweet blackberry pie and Scott was dilly dallying around. Finally he says, "I'm sorry - I've got lock up tonight" You can imagine my "calm" reaction: "Can't you just trade with someone?" "Sorry - I don't know who has it next week or I would"AHHHH. So we finally leave and he's driving unbelievably slowly taking the long way home. You would think at this point I'd catch on. Nope. Not even considering I had run in to my two good friends Danielle and Julie at Sams with a cart full of food and neither of them stopped to chat (very unusual). Still, I could be the star of the movie Clueless. So, we finally get home and get out of the truck. He doesn't walk to the door instead he opens the back and acts like he's doing something - remember I am still frustrated that we are late getting home. I walk in the door and about wet my pants because my house if slam full of people yelling something that I found out later was "surprise!" It was a lot of fun and most of our friends here in Texas were there. I felt very loved especially because everyone parked around the corner and walked (in the immense heat). So the day was great fun! (Even if my husband picked a fight so I wouldn't be thinking about anything else) =)

I'm so thankful for you, Sarah, and I'm so thankful we got to celebrate your birthday with you this year. =) It was fun to surprise you!!! I do remember when you were born....your were so beautiful...and there was just something special about you. Maybe your brothers praying for a sister added to the specialness. I can still hear them saying, "See, we asked for a girl!" You were a beautiful baby and have only increased in beauty every day since!
I love you so much and am so thankful and blessed to be your friend as well as your Mom.
Our Lord's choicest blessings to you always,
Much much love and prayers always,
Mom
