"I am adding Lalaloopsy to my list!"

Winter at our house is a crazy time of year. Our kids birthdays are all three either in November or December. Then comes Christmas. Needless to say I start purging the toys around October. Myah, our middle girl, is the hardest one to shop for. She's three years younger than Madeline and has everything a girl could want. She has plenty of clothes and shoes from Madeline. They still play with the same toys. She's got Madeline's old bike. To top it off, she doesn't ever ask for anything over $10. We were all done shopping this year and had everything on her list before she even asked for it. A few days before Christmas she pipes up with, "I am adding a Lalaloopsy to my list! Aubrey (her BFF) got one at our choir Christmas party and it's awesome!" Scott went on a mission. He came back with the singing, hair-spinning, dancing Lalaloopsy. It was the best one out there! Why wouldn't he just get the cheaper, non-dancing, non-singing one? Because he loves her. He wants the best for her. Today I came across the perfect prayer to our unconditionally loving God: Psalm 20 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; May the Name of the God of Jacob protect you. May He send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May He remember all your sacrifices... May He give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed... We will shout for joy when you are victorious We will lift up our banners in the Name of our God May the Lord grant all your requests... Some trust in chariots and horses but we trust in the Name of the Lord. Even more than we want to give our children everything they desire, is the desire that the Lord has to answer us, protect us, help us, accept us, remember, us, provide for us, and love us. When we are living for Him, as His children, there is NOTHING He wants to withhold from us. He brings the victory - over sin, death and our struggles. He provides our needs and our joy. He is our Source. Psalm 20 is my prayer for my kids today.

I love your post.

It reminds me of last Christmas when our daughter Hope decided she wanted a Lalaloopsy with Silly Hair. There was literally not one left in the state of Nebraska that I could find. Finally, my sister found one in a Wal-mart about 3 hours away, and she picked it up for her.

Oh the great lengths a father will go to help their child. Sounds familiar...

Blessings

Jeff

Remembering how our Precious Lord Jesus sent you the very doll you wanted when you were in kindergarten in Anchorage. 😊 He certainly went to great lengths & a few thousand miles to get it to you!! His Love is so amazing & so very sweet.
Much love & hugs,
