Yesterday some friends of ours had the girls over so that we could go out for Scott's birthday. (thanks Danielle and Eric). Madeline and her best friend Emma spent the day together. First the got in trouble for playing in the water at my house. Then they proceeded to get in trouble again (five minutes before we picked the girls up) at Emma's house - once again playing in the water. Where is this going? you might ask. Well, as we are driving home, Madeline who is 1/2 asleep at this point, pipes up with, "Mommy, I went potty in a bucket!" She was very excited and proud of herself for this achievement! I said, "You did WHAT?" "I peed in a bucket" Scott said, "Did you pretend potty or real potty in the bucket? Almost completely asleep at this point, "I real pottied" I (still in disbelief) said "Did you take your pants down?" Knowing that if she didn't she was just pretending. "Yes, and my panties too" Imagine the conversation we had after that about where we go potty. We had it again this morning since she was probably talking in her sleep. =) The story was confirmed by Emma's older sister, Jade. Jade said that it all started because they had filled the bucket with water and put pieces of their cookie in it. Somehow the cookie gave them the idea to go potty in the bucket. =)

The sad part is that Emma came up with a bigger way of getting in trouble with the water at our house. I'm still so embarrassed!!! But, like you say, we will be wishing they would be playing in the water and peeing in the bucket when they are 13! I'm so sorry Sarah, I still can't believe they did that!
I hope you are keeping all this written in a diary for Madeline for when she is older.....perhaps to give her when her first child is born! By then it will all be funny to you and you will have many laughs together!!! =)
Sure hope they didn't eat their soggy cookie pieces!!! =)
Have a fun day!!!
Much love, Mom
PS
I forgot to mention (in above comment) this will make a GREAT illustration in your parenting class at the retreat next week!! I know all the ladies will enjoy it and can probably identify more than you can imagine! =)
Madeline & Myah will be giving you many memory makers as the days come & go...Enjoy them...the girls and the memories they are making!!!
Lots of Love, Mom
