Thanksgiving

We are getting ready for the holidays. We'll be here for Thanksgiving this year. While it's a bummer that our parents and siblings will be in other states, we are excited to start a tradition with the girls. Scott's going to do the turkey. He did a great job last year. (Myah had just been born so he did Thanksgiving - the whole thing). I might try to find some kind of craft to do with Madeline. It's hard to teach an almost four year old to be thankful for what we have. I find my self chastising her for always wanting everything she sees while at the same time I am wishing I had more - more clothes, more decorations, more stuff... I am convicted when I think about the hundreds of hurting people near by who are wishing for more love, more family, more friends... To teach Madeline to have a generous/grateful heart, what does my heart have to look like?

We all need a heart that looks like Jesus'....=)
That developes as we know and love Him more each day and spend time with Him. You are already developing that in Madeline and Myah. It takes time for the fruit to ripen....but it will ripen and be a sweet offering to our Wonderful Lord.
Responding to and being thankful for His conviction is certainly part of the ripening process...=) and the ripening takes a lifetime...but the process is still sweet to our Lord Jesus.
You are an awesome Mom, Sarah....you're girls are very blessed.
I love you dearly and am so blessed to have you for my daughter and very precious friend.
I know you & Scott and the girls will have a very special & blessed Thanksgiving! =) Enjoy every moment!
Much love and prayers always,
Mom

It is hard, we are going through the same things with our girls. I think they will "get it" when they get a little older....it is just a tough concept to learn as a child when you don't understand so many other concepts that go along with this one!
