Thinking about this generation
This year is off and running! I can't seem to get time to slow down one bit. Madeline has started gymnastics and according to her, she holds the world record for staying in a tripod position. Myah just started last week and did awesome. Mason wants to do everything the girls do: gymnastics, rainbows, Prims (MJs girls club at church) and he loves his big boy class at church where he talks about "Jesus and plays with stuff". The Presidential debate got me thinking about how blessed we are. 40% of kids are born out of wedlock and into poverty. This is going to create a whole new dynamic for this generation. How can they learn to function in healthy relationships (of any kind) if they don't have good examples around them? It is so important that the church come along side of these parents who are struggling to raise their kids and support their families all by themselves. We need to give them tools to help them disciple their kids. We need to give them food and clothes and supply basic needs. We need to show them the love of Christ on a daily basis. I was reading in Chronicles this morning about how the older generation is responsible to tell the younger generations about the wonders and glory of God. If they fail, the next generation will walk away from God and be lost. This is a HUGE burden to bear. However, God is so faithful! He will guide us and He has great plans for these kids! I can't imagine doing anything other than kids ministry. There are so many children hurting and in need.
