"I am going to the moon in a rocket with cows!"

Yesterday at lunch Mason announced, "I'm going to the moon in a rocket with cows!" I said, "What are you going to do when you get there?" He replied with a "Duh Mama" kind of voice, "I'm going to play with the space animals!" I let it go. It didn't seem like I needed to make a big deal about informing him that there is no longer a space program that would allow him to go to the moon, there are no helmets made to fit cows in the rocket and there are not any space animals for him to play with once he gets there. I didn't feel the need to burst that bubble. However, when he came running down the hallway, screaming at the top of his lungs because Myah had the tiger that he wanted, I did in fact feel THAT was a teachable moment! Psalm 25:8 says, "Good and upright is the Lord: therefore He instructs sinners in His ways. He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way." It is detrimental that we stay teachable and humble. At no point do any of us "arrive". Even Solomon in all his wisdom, made major mistakes. It is my prayer for my kids and yours that they stay teachable, that they love instruction, that they seek God for His guidance and out of humility follow the way chosen for them by the Lord. Psalm 25:12 "Who, then, is the man that fears the Lord? He (GOD) will instruct him in the way chosen for him." Let me, Scott, and our children forever follow in the way HE has chosen for us.
