"Mama, you are my handsome!"

Words I never thought I'd hear: "Mama, you are my handsome!" I call Mason my handsome all the time. He's such a cutie and somehow the name just stuck. One day we were goofing off and he busts out with a big hug and calling me his handsome. Talk about melting my heart! His eyes were full of a child's innocent love and trust. It didn't matter that he'd been in time out already that day. It didn't matter what was going to happen next, he just knew he loved his Mama and his Mama loved him. In Psalm 40 David describes God as righteous, loving, truth, merciful, trustworthy, and as our deliverer. God is everything that we can love and trust. Without Him we are lost and miserable, trying to fill our lives with worthless things. Without Him we look to things of this world to deliver us. Verse 8 is my prayer for our family today: "I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart." With God there is no fear in doing His will-He is righteous and loving. With God there's nothing to be anxious about doing His will-He is truth and merciful. With God there is no doubt in doing His will-He is trustworthy and will deliver us in time of need. Sometimes we have to follow verse 1: "I waited patiently for the the Lord". His timing is perfect. He will NOT fail to keep His promises!
